"Wasted", Illustration & Limited Edition Screen Print, 2012

I created this illustration, ans subsequently the screen print, for a demo/lecture I did at my alma mater Salisbury University early this year. The demo was a step by step demonstration of my process in making this piece. I showed the upper level illustration students how I conceive of, draw, reproduce and ultimately print one of my pieces- in conjunction with the screen printing class, where I actually hand printed these on the same afternoon. The prints are 19"x25", 4 layer prints. I only printed about 30 of them- most of which were given out to the students to keep. There are a few left over that have found their way into galleries. Contact me if you wish to find one.

"All You Can Eat", Illustration & Limited Edition Screen Print, 2012

This is an illustration I made recently based on an idea from my beautiful wife, Kristen. I also personally made large screen prints of this, 4 colors on 19"x23" bright white paper. It will be on display and for sale at a handful of art openings here in Philadelphia this summer.

Various Multi-Ad Illustratrions

Print Monster // Original Illustration // Art Print

I created this print "Print Monster" for an art opening I co-curated at Masthead Print Studio & Gallery.

Imagine that a sheet of paper comes alive as a toxic ooze drooling festering zit and multiple eye clad creature and you have this illustration.

The print is a 4 color, 19"x25" screen print on 100lb bright white cover stock by Cougar Paper Company. Signed and numbered edition of only 30!

Eye Pig // Original Illustration // Art Print

This is another "just for fun" print. Its an illustration I did of a drooling pig-creature with several eyes. The background also features a halftone mash up of various pork product adverts.

The print is 3 colors on 19"x25" "Razzleberry" colored 100lb paper by the French Paper Company. Signed and Numbered edition of 50.

I've posted the process here as well as the outcome. The first (rough) pencil sketch is the upper right drawing, the final pencil art is the bottom (larger) one.

The print I made turned out incredible. its a 7 color, 19"x25" screen print. Printed on French Paper. Signed & Numbered edition of 50...

Newspaper Classified Themes // Icon Series // MultiAd

This is a series of 9 icons that I created for MultiAd. Each one represents a different newspaper classified section.

Personal Space Invader // Original Illustration // Signed & Numbered Gallery

This is an Illustration I created for a huge group Mini print show/trade at the Signed & Numbered Gallery. These Screen Prints are 4 colors; Irridecent Lime Green, Light Blue, Hot Pink and Matte Black. Since this was made for a mini-print show, these weigh in at only 7" x 11", printed on International Paper's 120lb bright white cover stock.

These are the pencil (left) & ink (right) drawings for this print... The pencil was thumbnail sized, maybe 3"x5", and the ink was just a bit smaller than the actual print.

A close up of the half-tone coloring technique I used on this print.

Fanboy Fanticide // Illustration and Limited Edition Screen Print

I created this Illustration / Limited edition screen print for the "All the Colors of he Dark" invitational art opening this October in Philadelphia which features artists making prints related to the Gindhouse/B-Movie genre's. This is a sort-of portrait (my amplified view) of the average grindhouse/exploitation movie enthusiast. I didn't want to make another "fan movie poster" or an ode to any one specific movie (although if I confess to having Cannibal Holocaust in mind). The specific reason for my picking the fan as my subject is that grindouse, exploitation and more broadly "B-movie horror" cult classics have come to represent more than just a genre of film making- they are now a sort of "symbol" of counter culture of OUR generation- one generation removed in most cases from the movies themselves. This print- like other similar prints I create- speak to and come from the same counter that has become synonymous with these movies. To me, "All the Colors of the Dark" is a showcase of that culture- and in my mind this print aims to please to the people of that movement.

Here is a close up view of the final color artwork and in line with some of my past illustrations, I used "blown up" and over-printed halftone dots to create a saturated range of colors. This is actually a 5 color screen print - Yellow, Lime green iridescent, bright blue, hot pink and black. All layers (except for Black) are transparent- allowing for the "color mixing on paper" effect. The paper is 19"x25" 120lb cougar bright white cover stock. Its the "whiter than white" paper that makes bright colors extra bright... signed and numbered run of 75!

This is the ink drawing I created based on the original pencil drawing. This is about 10"x 15"

This is the original pencil drawing that jump started the whole process. This is about 5"x 5"

Grinding It Out - Kevin Sharp // Editorial Illustration

This is an illustration I created for Decibel, a Philly based nationally syndicated metal music magazine. This illustration is being run along side (and is of) a regular column written by Kevin Sharp of the band Brutal Truth.

This is the pencil drawing I created and then vectored.
